Steven Emerson in the Lion's Den - Debate With Islamist Radical on Al Jazeera

On August 23, Steven Emerson debated a U.S.-educated Jordanian author, Dr. Ibrahim Alloush, on Al Jazeera on the subject, "Who Is a Terrorist?" As I write this, I can't find the transcript on the Al Jazeera English-language site - maybe that's because they don't want to publicize Alloush's bizarre views. Fortunately I have a transcript from someone who listened to it, and Alloush was in full "destroy America, destroy Israel, and support terrorism" throat in the interview - excerpts below, and read the full transcript provided to me:

Every day there are crimes committed by the United States on the ground against all peoples of the world...And Mr. Emerson, who is accusing me, he is one of the worst terrorists as a thinker...And therefore there are studies and scientific research that show that the Holocaust never existed...Nazism is what the Zionist movement is doing today and what the United States government is doing today...all those who collaborate with an occupier, whether a Palestinian or Iraqi or other, he is to be targeted. We don't have any remorse...9/11, I say that the Americans are responsible. This is the case of the chicken home to roost. You brought this to yourself..."

You can't make this stuff up. The transcript doesn't communicate how Steve was able to keep his compsure when hearing such a twisted mind spew this hate, but he certainly scored points and summarized Alloush's views in one statement near the end of the debate, without rebuttal or denial:

One, you believe Dr. Alloush that the Nazis did not kill six million Jews; two, that there were no crematoria and that most died from disease; number three, you believe that the 9-11 attacks were deserved by the United States; number four you believe that the US is bombing the mosques in Iraq; number five, you believe that anybody who collaborates with an occupier deserves to be killed; number seven, you believe that basically all Jews deserve to be attacked.

You have to read the transcript to believe it. There is no reasoning with a warped mind such as Alloush - it's hard to believe that he spent over 13 years in the U.S. and came away with so little actual knowledge of the American people. I have no doubt that he and his followers are celebrating the deaths and destruction wrought by Hurricane Katrina of those areas not occupied by "his" kind of Muslims.
