UN Security Council Adds Abdul Latif Saleh to Sanctions List

By Andrew Cochran

When the U.S. Treasury Department designated Dr. Abdul Latif Saleh, pursuant to Executive Order 13224, for providing support to bin Laden and al Qaida, Doug Farah asked whether the UN Security Council would follow suit. Thankfully, the Council's Al-Qaida and Taliban Sanctions Committee added him last Tuesday, as announced yesterday. The Sanctions Committee also made a few editorial changes and corrections to existing names on the list, which is important if you need exact names for your Patriot Act/BSA compliance list of PEPs ("politically exposed persons").
