Al-Qaida commanders around the world and prominent Iraqi insurgent factions have continued to issue responses to the death of Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, including the following:

- June 8 statement from Abu Musab Abdel Wadoud, commander of the Algerian Salafist Group for Prayer and Combat (GSPC)

- June 9 video recording of Ayman al-Zawahiri released by the As-Sahab Media Foundation

- June 9 statement from Abdullah bin Rashid al-Baghdadi, head of the Mujahideen Shura Council (an umbrella group for Iraqi insurgents run by Al-Qaida)

- June 9 statement from Abu Abdullah al-Hassan Bin Mahmud, commander of the Ansar al-Sunnah Army

- June 9 statement from Taliban Supreme Commander Mullah Mohammed Umar in Afghanistan

- June 9 statement from the Mujahideen Army of Iraq

- June 10 statement from the Al-Rashideen Army in Iraq

- June 10 statement from the Al-Fatihin Army in Iraq
