Afghanistan Embed PageBy Bill Roggio
I've assembled a web page that compiles the articles, photographs, and multimedia from the May-June embed in Afghanistan. The photo galleries include many pictures as of yet not released at the Counterterrorism Blog, including a trip to a girl's orphanage in Kabul, numerous photos form my time with the Canadian troops in Kandahar, and shots of Kabul. My sincerest thanks to everyone who supported this embed, as well as last year's embed in Iraq. I could not have gone to Iraq and Afghanistan without your support. I plan on going to Djibouti (which neighbors turbulent Somalia) and Iraq later this year. Please consider donating to the Counterterrorism Foundation to support these future embeds, as well as our initiatives to support undiscovered counterterrorism analysts and alternative reporting in the Global War on Terror. We will detail these initiatives with the launch of the Counterterrorism Foundation website in the near future. Later this evening, I'll be providing an update on the rash of bombings in Kabul over the past two days. While the media is reporting these bombings are the work of the Taliban, my sources on the ground indicate otherwise. I also have some photographs from the scene of the bombing. More to come...
