Farhana Qazi is a terrorism analyst, a writer and sought-after public speaker on conflicts in the Muslim world. She recently traveled to Kashmir to assess the current crisis and meet with separatist leaders and ex-militants. For years, she has traveled to South Asia, particularly throughout Pakistan to understand the domestic and foreign policy challenges in the country, Along with regional expertise, she has focused on women's activism in mass sociopolitical movements and terrorist networks. She is the among the few female scholars, and the only Muslim woman, who examines closely the female suicide bomber trend in Iraq and other conflicts. Ms. Qazi appears regularly on diverse media outlets, including the BBC world radio and television, CNN headline and world news, Al-Jazeera English, Voice of America, Canadian television, National Public Radio, and on foreign broadcast television and newspapers, such as Europe, the Middle East, and South Asia. Ms. Qazi is a former international policy analyst with the RAND Corporation (2008-2005) and a political analyst with the U.S. Government (2000-2005). She is currently a senior fellow at the Center for Advanced Studies on Terrorism (CAST). She is a graduate of the Security Policy Studies program at The George Washington University and is proficient in Urdu, French, Hindi, Punjabi and is studying classical Arabic.
