Olivier Guitta Olivier Guitta is an Adjunct Fellow at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies. He is a Counterterrorism and Foreign Affairs consultant in Washington D.C. His clients include private companies, financial institutions, law firms and think tanks. As well, he is the founder of the counterterrorism and foreign affairs newsletter The Croissant, whose subscribers include government officials, law enforcement agencies, think tanks and private companies. He has briefed some 2008 US presidential candidates on counterterrorism. He also testified before the European Union Parliament. He has appeared on Fox News, CBN, and ABC radio. He lectures around the country, mostly on Radical Islam and terrorism. His daily reading of the Arabic, European, Israeli and US press, combined with the business experience acquired throughout his career in finance, give him a different perspective on world events.

His articles on Radical Islam and terrorism in the Middle East, Europe and Africa have been published in numerous outlets, including the Weekly Standard, Jane's, The Examiner, Jamestown Terrorism Monitor, The Middle East Times, Middle East Quarterly, Journal of International Security Affairs, National Post (Canada), Valeurs Actuelles (France), Asia Times (Honk Kong), Jerusalem Post, and New York Press. He has written in-depth studies on Hezbollah for the Brookings Institution, on France's Arab policy for the Middle East Quarterly, and on Euro-US cooperation on terrorism for the American Legislative Exchange Council. He has been quoted in the Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, Washington Times, New York Sun, Village Voice, Chicago Tribune, National Defense, The Daily Express (London), El Pais (Spain), Jyllands Posten (Denmark), Diaro De Noticias (Portugal), and Capital Weekly (Bulgaria). His works have been translated in French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese and Dutch.

He was born in Morocco and lived then in Spain, France and Germany before moving to the United States in 1992. He has a Finance MBA from a French business school and a Masters in economics from the University of Cologne, Germany. He speaks four languages and has over a decade of experience in international banking and portfolio management with two major firms in New York and Miami. After September 11, he decided to switch careers and devote his life to fighting the war of ideas. He moved to the Washington D.C. area in 2004.
