What is the mission of the Counterterrorism Foundation?
The Counterterrorism Foundation (CTF) seeks to increase public awareness of the daily happenings in the Global War on Terror (GWOT) by supporting the work of the Co-Editors and the Contributing Experts of the Counterterrorism Blog.

How does the CTF achieve its mission?
The CTF provides financial support to the Counterterrorism Blog and to the Contributing Experts for their research and reporting activities covering the many facets of the GWOT. Examples of “related research and reporting” include the financing of research projects and embedded reporting by Counterterrorism Blog experts, speaking appearances, and a range of educational and journalistic publications. The majority of the resulting publications will be posted on the Counterterrorism Blog.

In what countries have your experts embedded and what are your future plans?
In May of 2006, Bill Roggio embedded as a journalist with the Canadian Army in Kandahar, Afghanistan. Bill spent four weeks in Afghanistan, and arrived one day after the Kabul riot, in which 14 Afghans were killed and over a hundred wounded, and provided firsthand reporting of the aftermath, and rode along with the Canadian troops of the 1st Battalion of the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry during an operation in Kandahar's restive Zari and Panjwai districts. CTF is currently seeking funding for the operating expenses of the Counterterrorism Blog and for a range of research projects proposed by the Contributing Experts.

What is the CTF’s legal standing?
The CTF is a non-profit organization that has been approved by the IRS for Section 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status, effective on April 26, 2006, the date of incorporation.

How is the CTF organized and led?
Daveed Gartenstein-Ross and Andrew Cochran serve as Co-Chairmen of the Foundation. The other Directors are Douglas Farah and Thor Ronay of the International Assessment and Strategy Center.
